Horse Blood Smear

Not a really good horse blood smear, but it has a lot of WBCs.

The combination might not seem like it goes together, but it does tonight. Especially for me!

It was another exhausting day for me. Started off with pathology lab where we first needed to get horse blood and examine it. Then afterwards we had our research class, physiology class, and then a pre-operative examination for our next surgical procedure at the Tabon Veterinary Teaching Hospital. I’ll be Assistant Surgeon for the procedure which is esophagostomy. My friend Faye will be heading the procedure.

It shall be very fun I think!

Me and AJ

Me and AJ, Ms. Vetlympics!

I forgot to mention in my earlier post that I had attended the Vetlympics ceremony this past Wednesday. Vetlympics for those of you who don’t know, is a competition between all of the veterinary organizations in sports and even beauty. The kick off ceremony for the event is a beauty pageant, where each organization at the college offers two of their best candidates for Mr. & Ms. Vetlympics. It’s a fun event to go to, and seeing some of our friends try their best to win the pageant is fun. Some people really go out!

Since I wad made an honorary member of the Lady Veterinarian Students Association (weird yes, but hey, I can’t help that the girls like me :P) last year I attended to support their candidate which was my friend AJ. Since the organization is mostly filled with women, they only had to offer a candidate for Ms. Vetlympics.

My Homemade Sushi

My Homemade Sushi

We had a lot of fun, and even though they didn’t win first place this year, I know they did their best and still had a blast.

So that’s it for now. It’s raining pretty hard here, and I’ve just made some more wicked sushi for dinner again. I really can’t get enough of this stuff. I
