Dog's Teeth

Look at that dog’s teeth!

And it certainly is true. It’s about 10pm right now and I’m just about to go to bed. Today was an exhausting day with classes and lab up until 3pm. At that point I was the anesthetist for our surgical procedure (which wasn’t really surgical, I suppose) which was for tartar removal. The procedure went well… the dog we treated now has whiter teeth than me. ๐Ÿ˜›

Tomorrow I’ll be headed to the University of the Philippines: Diliman to go work in their Veterinary Teaching Hospital laboratory. Tonight before I go to bed I plan to brush up on how to correctly perform the common lab tests that we probably will be asked to do, such as a complete blood count (CBC) and fecalysis. It’ll be Friday tomorrow which means that it’s one of the peak times the hospital has during the week. Tomorrow morning my friend James will be driving us at 6am so we can get to our duty at 8:30pm. It usually takes only an hour and a half, but there’s usually traffic on the road on Friday morning so we may be a little delayed. Let’s hope we get there on time!

The team killing time.

The team killing time.

It’ll be fun tomorrow I think running lab tests all day, but I know that the clinic usually gets 70-100 cases on Fridays so we’ll have our hands full I’m sure. I think right now though I’ll just finish up my anesthesia record from today’s surgery, play with my cat a little, listen to some tunes and then fall asleep. But seriously, it seems like this year, we don’t get much break time… we’re running around like crazy already trying to obtain animals and study and whatnot. And it’s totally exhausting! I guess this is what it’s going to be like the rest of the year, but hey, that’s vet school for ya.

So I’m going to start on those things I mentioned and get to bed. I’ll catch you guys later!
