Hey everyone,

Just wanted to let you all know that a new comic is uploaded and that it features a new (maybe permanent) character in the series. By the way, B.J. is a real friend of mine and this was supposed to be uploaded a long time ago as a present to him for Christmas (yes, I know it’s long overdue).

Check it out–and we’ll see how he fares with the rest of the Pillow Book Chronicles gang.

Oh, what’s up people? I haven’t talked with you all in awhile.

Just to give you a short update… FIND Dialogue at Drexel was totally great. I had fun with the Cornell crew as well as the other National Directors and the entire event was great. There were a couple of problems I encountered when getting there (everything from an “almost” lost credit card to the hotel giving up our reserved rooms), but all in all everything worked itself out. Also, for those of you wondering how my Wines prelim went… it went pretty well. I think I’ll get through this class alright. :-)

I’ve had the weirdest evening tonight. I woke up from a nap and saw my clock and thought it was 6am in the morning. I took a shower, did my problem set that’s supposed to be due Thursday and then worked on this comic. My friend came to visit and I asked her, “What the heck are you doing here so early?” She just looked at me like I was crazy. When I finally realized what time it really was I felt really embarrassed.

Now, I’ve just finished dinner and am enjoying a piece of cassava cake and a good anime entitled Kanon. My friend Roxanne recommended it to me and I’m having fun watching it. I guess I’m a sucker for great animation and a somewhat mysterious storyline. Gosh, I wish I could draw like these guys…

Anyway, the new comic is up and we have a new character. I wonder what this will entail. Stay tuned to the Pillow Book Chronicles to find out!

Oh look, it’s a new Pillow Book Chronicle!

Haha, it’s nice to have this finally released. Boy, I totally forgot how much time it takes to get a comic online. But nevertheless, I’m glad that I’ve gotten back on schedule for this project. I’m not sure how the update schedule for this will work. I think I’ll probably stick to the “once-a-week” updating for now, but hey, who knows…

Also, for those of you who are wondering what happened to the PBC Shorts, don’t fret. I actually have a couple of them I’ve done, but haven’t released yet, but I’m still looking into an interface that will display them on the site properly. I’m working with a Comikaze/Wordpress set-up for this site, and although Comikaze seems to have the ability to manage multiple comics, I haven’t been able to get it to work properly. I think I might be screwing up the PHP code, because everytime I put in the variables it just displays the same comic twice. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. If you have any clue on web-design and PHP and may have a solution to my problem, leave me a comment or hit up the forums. Or better yet, send me an e-mail. I’d appreciate any suggestions you have to give.

Well, I’m off to meet my friends Liz and Claire to enjoy the Cornell Japanese US Association’s event, Ennichi. It’s a summer evening festival full of food, music and fun! There’s unlimited games, food and music, and it’s all for just $1. I’m gonna have tons of fun tonight.

Well guys, although you see that rant before this one about how Internet Explorer screwed up the timing on the creation of the next comic, I have stayed up late to complete the sketch. It came out extremely well, and I have to say that it’s nice to have a pencil back in my hand again. I’m really surprised at how this came out.

I’m pretty tired right now–my eyelids are slowly closing and I can’t seem to control it anymore so I’m going to skip the inking of it tonight and do it during my lunch break tomorrow. However, since I did complete the sketch, here’s a sample of what’s in store for the next issue. (Sorry for the somewhat poor quality, though. Just click on it to see a better picture.)
