New Changes!

So I’ve taken another theme and put it to use on this web-site. Since I’m not really focusing on my artwork as much anymore, I’ve decided to redesign the site to focus more on the blog.

However, my old artwork will still be here. But it will take me some time before I can fix the archives since right now they’re all messed up. By the weekend I hope to fix everything I need to fix.

Anyway, got a slew of work to do, but if you guys have any suggestions and/or comments about the new layout please leave me a comment below. Thanks guys, and I will talk with you all soon!

AYOKO NAAAA!!!!

The title roughly translates from the Tagalog (Filipino language) as… “I don’t want to anymore!!!” Or at least something to that effect.

Before I start on why I’m saying that, let me start off by saying a little something first.

Anyway, I’m writing this blog entry because I’ve decided to come back to my very own web-site and finally keep you guys updated. The last few months have been a little hectic and I’m really, really stressing out about everything right now. I’m really sorry to everyone who comes here (like the 2 or 3 of you who check regularly… haha), for I have been a really bad person in leaving my own blog alone for months. I want to get back into blogging about my experiences in the Philippines, but right now I’m just venting because I’m having a hard time.

I just came back from a virology test today and it SUCKED. And by sucked I mean MAJORLY SUCKED. I don’t think that I’ve ever come out of an exam that disjointed before. It was like I was in a trance, and so were all the other people in the room. To put it simply, the exam was not what many of us were expecting and in addition, we have had almost no time to study and prepare for the exams this past week. There’s always something to do, some report to write up, a quiz or test to study for or a surgery to prep for. In fact, this Friday I will be assisting in my first ovariohysterectomy on a cat, but unfortunately, after that surgery I will have to rush back to college to take yet another exam for my Parasitology lab class.

Honestly guys, school has been killing me softly.

I’m doing good in some places and not so good in others. The amount of work that has come crashing down on the vet students in 2nd year proper this month is killer, and I’d almost venture that it’s kind of unfair. Last month I had to put up with a 6 exam week. Next week I may be looking at a 7 to 8 exam week. There’s only 5 days of class yes, but somehow we have so many exams that some of them will have to be scheduled the following Saturday. That’s how bad it is.

Anyway, I can’t make this blog too long because I have stuff to do, but you guys get the picture. Vet school here is harder than anything I’ve come across so far, even during my times at Cornell. It is like graduate school yes, but I really hope to do well to become a doctor soon and finally stop with the crazy schooling. While I do realize that I’ll be taking seminars and learning all my life as a veterinarian, I imagine that it can’t be as bad as this.

Alright guys, I gotta split. Catch you all on the flip side. And leave some words of encouragement, will ya?

Busy, busy, busy!

My goodness it’s been a long time since I’ve done a blog. It’s been months and I really have to apologize for that. School has pretty much taken over my life and I don’t have much time to do anything but really study, study, study. I’ve been able to do other things as well, but honestly the feeling to blog about things has never really been something that I’ve wanted to do in the last few weeks because I’m just so tired when I get back home.

While I do have a lot to tell, I want to keep this blog entry short. Too many things have happened in the last few weeks but I don’t have enough energy to recount them all. So here’s a brief list of things I’ve done:

  • Attended my first K-pop Convention in the Philippines.
  • Surviving my veterinary classes… so far.
  • Going through surgery classes and prepping for our first castration and ovariohysterectomy.
  • Went to my first mini Korean pop concert featuring 4Minute (a famous Korean pop group with an ex-Wonder Girl).
  • Got tricked by my girlfriend on Valentine’s Day (but she’s a sweetheart, so I’ll let it slide).
  • Climbed my first rock wall.
  • Got #1 on some Pharmacology exams.
  • Met some cool Wonder Girls fans.
  • Made some Pathology projects and did well on them.
  • Did multiple fecalysis examinations for my Parasitology project.
  • Got called “unnie” instead of “oppa” on Spectacle forums (that was weird).
  • Committed a semi-crime indirectly involving the Wonder Girls.
  • Tasted some seriously good energy drinks and ice cream from Korea.
  • Practiced placing an indwelling IV catheter on a medium-sized dog.
  • Learned about anesthetic machines and fluid therapy.
  • Planning on auditioning for the Amazing Race Asia 4.

That it for now… I’ll see if I can post more as time passes. Sorry for the lack of updates again, but it’s the final stretch for my 4th semester here. Let’s hope it goes well! Wish me luck!
